The BMW i brand is synonymous with visionary mobility concepts and a new definition of premium quality that is strongly focused on sustainability. Following the world debut of the first production model, the BMW i3, the BMW Group’s next step will be to extend this revolutionary answer to the future challenges facing personal mobility to the sports car segment. At a driving event at the BMW Group’s Miramas test track in France, the BMW i brand is now presenting a prototype of its second production vehicle, the BMW i8. This plug-in hybrid model is the most progressive sports car of our time, extending the basic BMW i philosophy of sustainability to a new vehicle segment. Lets imagine for a moment BMW created a hybrid supercar mated with the 560hp BMW V8 (S63B44TU) from the current BMW M6 in the BMW i8's light weight body... What would we get? Perhaps a BMW M8 Hybrid Supercar. The renderings below is strictly a design study, technical possibilities has not been considered. (Check out the other colors after the jump)
Now that we have all seen how the BMW i3 will look like in production form, we have an even better idea of how the BMW i8's headlight will look like. Here are a few new renders with the new headlight design on the BMW i8 using body colors seen on the BMW i3. Let's start with Solar Orange.
