We thought it would be great to repost these excerpts from Autoblog's BMW i8 hands on review Read it here. "We tried all modes, of course, and while BMW still has six months to
refine the few remaining issues on these validation test prototypes, the
more we drove the i8, the more the huge financial investment required
hit us as a brave yet valid move by BMW. Whether in its most timid
coffee-fetching eMode+Eco Pro setup or in Sport with DSC off, you'll be
happy with what you're feeling if our happiness is anything to go by. A
full recharge from the (not included) wall box given the smaller
capacities of the lithium-ion battery, takes just two hours." (Continue Reading Plus a full gallery after the jump)

New BMW i8 Renders (Projected Production Colors)
Now that we have all seen how the BMW i3 will look like in production form, we have an even better idea of how the BMW i8's headlight will look like. Here are a few new renders with the new headlight design on the BMW i8 using body colors seen on the BMW i3. Let's start with Solar Orange.
Sep 10 2013: It turns out these renders were pretty accurate compared to the actual car. The Production BMW i8 has been officially released, see the full gallery here.

BMW i8 Production Renders May 2013
Based on the latest spyshots showing the
new 2015 BMW i8 wearing it's production wheels and minimal camouflage
on, it is very easy to see tiny details in the bodywork that we have
never seen before. The i8's 1.5L three cylinder turbocharged gas engine
in the rear and the 128hp electric motor is expected to generate about
354hp / 500Nm torque, 0-62 mph in
approximately 4.6 seconds, top speed of 155mph, 78 MPG (european test
cycle), up to 47 MPG average fuel consumption, with emissions generated
to just 66g/km. Here are a few of our in-house renders of how the BMW i8
will look like in production form. Let us know what you think?
